Teaming up with Oxford nanobrewery Future State to showcase a brand-new New Zealand hop, Pacific Sunrise in a chewy 7% DDH IPA, along with Strata, Mosaic, Cashmere, and El Dorado to ramp up the orange flavours and contribute a generous spritz of lime, passion fruit, mango, plus a distinct, pulpy dank finish. The world of comic books and its extended universe is no stranger to whipping itself into a frenzy over the hype of new releases, and that’s something that we in the equally gee- “enthusiastic” craft beer community share. Our second release in the Thought Bubble Patrons Project celebrates that common ground by being our first beer brewed with Pacific Sunrise. It’s not that often that a new hop varietal comes out of New Zealand, where the climate and soil combines to really elevate hop characteristics and make them stand out from the US counterparts, so when it happens it’s always an exciting moment. Reared by the team at Hop Revolution, Pacific Sunrise has bold clementine up front, mellowing out into soft melon and some tannic blackcurrant on the finish.
